Dr Demetrio Pina is a passionate and compassionate dentist who has joined our Coastal Dental Care Tugun team. With more than a decade of dental experience working in dental practices throughout Australia and Brazil, he has worked with a variety of patients from different cultures and with unique needs and oral health habits.
Demetrio was born in Brazil and graduated from the Sao Paulo City University in Brazil in 2002. Since then, he continuously developed his knowledge and skills. Demetrio completed post graduate training in Dental Implants, Oral Surgery, Periodontics, and Restorative Dentistry. He migrated to Australia in 2011 with his family and settled in Melbourne before relocating to South East Queensland in 2015.
He is passionate about helping people and understanding their individual situations. His mission is to improve the general health and wellbeing of his patients, not just their dental health.
Dr Demetrio’s love for dentistry began when he was young. His older sister at the time, was working as a dentist and he could see how much passion and devotion she had working in the dental industry. It was an easy choice for Dr Demetrio to follow in her footsteps.
In his spare time, Demetrio likes spending time with his family at the beach and travelling. He also enjoys archery, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, chess and football as well as listening to music and reading books.
